Construction and Benefits of Recovery Straps with Reinforced Eyes
Construction of Recovery Straps
Recovery straps with reinforced eyes are meticulously crafted to elevate both functionality and safety in demanding situations. These straps typically feature loops or eyes rather than hooks, allowing for more flexibility during use. The eyes are often reinforced with durable materials like CORDURA®, a fabric known for its exceptional strength and resistance to abrasion. This reinforcement ensures the eyes withstand significant stress without fraying, thereby extending the life of the strap.
Benefits of Using Reinforced Eye Recovery Straps
By integrating these advanced construction techniques, recovery straps with reinforced eyes provide a robust solution for both amateur and professional use, ensuring safety and dependability when they’re needed most.
How do I know how large a recovery strap to buy?
A general rule of thumb is that each inch of width will allow you to pull out about 9,800 lbs. and the larger the width of the strap, the less “give” it has. That is why we sell 1” through 6” wide straps on our website. For most people’s use, these widths are the most common. For special applications, please call our office at 877-670-3130. Custom straps are available at no extra charge.
SINGLE PLY RECOVERY STRAPS – 1 thickness of webbing between end loops
2” = approximately 19,600 lbs. breaking strength
3” = approximately 29,400 lbs. breaking strength
4” = approximately 39,200 lbs. breaking strength
6” = approximately 58,800 lbs. breaking strength
How do I attach the recovery strap to another vehicle?
You should pass one end of the strap through the loop at the other end to secure it. NEVER use a knot or additional hardware to attach it. DO NOT attach it another vehicle in a way that it may be cut or damaged.
